Kathryn Britten
Kathryn is a Partner and Managing director at the global consultancy AlixPartners, based in London. She is a Chartered Accountant with over 45 years of experience as both an audit partner and a forensic accounting partner and she has provided expert witness services for over 30 years. She has acted as an expert witness in complex commercial matters concerning financial accounting issues as well as quantum and damages calculations, both UK High Court litigation, as an expert determiner and in International Arbitration, and she has extensive experience in high-profile and sensitive international cases. Kathryn is one of the United Kingdom’s most senior forensic accountants and expert witnesses. She has written hundreds of reports and testified on many occasions.
In 2022, Kathryn co-founded the Equal Representation for Expert Witness (ERE) Pledge (a sister pledge to Equal Representation in Arbitration) which is working to increase, on an equal opportunity basis, the number of women of all disciplines who are appointed as expert witnesses in dispute resolution procedures worldwide. ERE’s vision is to achieve a fair representation as soon as practically possible, with the ultimate goal of full parity.
